June 2001                                                                                                                              Father's Day Edition

Hi Ho there Folks!  Me again, Chester Chatsworth with another edition of the Dallas Homes Newsletter Chester’s Chatterbox.  This newsletter is dedicated to all of those great Dads out there who make our lives so special, and to all of you who enjoy reading my drivel.  Happy Father’s Day.

 Chester’s Cooking Tips

For Father’s Day, I thought I’d make something very special this year for Dad.  So, sit back and learn how to make Rice Pilaf …in four easy steps.

Step 1:   In a large sauce pan, boil 3 cups of rice till sticky.

Step 2:  Throw rice against the wall.

Step 3:  Get a large plate, go up to wall and Peel-Off the rice and add salt & pepper to taste.

Step 4:  Serve the Rice Peel-off to Dad for his Fantastic Father’s Day meal.

Interesting Real Estate Trivia

Currently, the tallest buildings in the world are the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  They are 88 stories high and stand over 1,480 feet tall.

The most expensive home ever built was Hearst Castle at San Simeon, California, it built between 1922-39 for a total cost of more than $30 million, equivalent today to more than $276 million.

It takes 300 tons of pain to paint the Eiffel Tower, which receives a fresh coat every 7 years.

The remains of the world’s oldest dwelling (artificial structure) is thought to be the site of two huts located in Chichibu Japan, which date back to a half a million years ago.

The world’s smallest house is The Quay House, a 19th-century fisherman's cottage in the UK.  It is 6 ft. wide, 10 ft. 2 in. high, and 9 ft. 2 in. from front to back.

The largest windows in the world are in the Palace of Industry and Technology in Paris, France. The three matching windows have a width of 715 ft. and a height of 164 ft.  Great View!

Darts and Cheese

I was surfing the web the other day to look for great gift ideas for Dad for Fathers day.  I came across a site with an interesting gift idea called Darts and Cheese.  What a wonderful idea, I thought…a fully functional 12” Dart Board filled with a dozen various types of cheese.  What more could a Father ask for.  Imagine the fun to be had with games like “Add a Hole to the Swiss” or “Tack the Jack,” or even “Prick the Brick.”  If you are interested in ordering this fun gift for your Dad, simply log on to: www.e-corporategifts.com/fathers_day.html . There are other great gift ideas on this page too, like the Sockeye Salmon in Cedar Box, the Executive Golf Putter Set, and even an Exceptional Piece Wine Gift Set.  However, if you plan on getting the Darts and Cheese, I would caution against any wine gift ideas.  Who knows where those darts might end up with a little wine in Dad’s belly?

A Poem For Dad
By Chester Chatsworth

Dad, you gave me a bone

And a good home

And never did it feel like I was alone.

Days spent in the park

From dawn until dark

On every tree and shrub, we’d leave our mark.

We’d chase all the squirrels

And sometimes the girls

But never did we get our fur up in curls.

Days like those in the sun

I would trade with no one

Because they make me proud, that I am your son!

 Happy Father’s Day Dad!
