January 2002
New Years Edition #13

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! That is what I yell every year at Midnight on January 1st. Or is it midnight December 31st??  Hummm, that always confuses me.  But my brother Pete, who is in the Police K-9 unit, says that it is easy to remember for him, because they use military time.  Pete says that there is no 2400 hrs.  Instead, midnight is 0000 hrs.  Therefore, midnight would be the next day.  So, if you want to yell HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Then it is best you do it at Midnight on January 1st, or you will be a day ahead of everyone else!  So, sit back and enjoy the first Chester’s Chatterbox Edition, (Un-Official Dallas Homes holiday newsletter), for the New Year!

Chester's Quick Party Snack

You have had a whole year now to prepare for New Years Eve and other party celebrations, but somehow (if you are like me, you find yourself scurrying for a last minute planning.  Here is a quick party snack to save time.

Step 1:            Place a block of cream cheese on a decorative plate.

Step 2:            Scatter a small can of tiny shrimp over the top of cream cheese. *

Step 3:            Dump a bottle of shrimp sauce over the cheese and shrimp so it cascades down on to plate.

Serve with Ritz crackers or crackers of your choice.

Chester’s New Year’s Resolutions

Every year I make my new year’s resolutions, and every year I struggle to keep them.  I’m sure many of you can relate.  Therefore, this year I thought I would share my new year’s resolutions with you so that you can help keep me in line.  If you see me slipping, please give me a simple reminder and I will try hard to comply.  Feel free to write in and share your resolutions with me, Chester Chatsworth.

I will not terrorize the mailman…salesmen are okay, though.

I will not chase the neighbor’s cat…though I might chase the neighbor.

I will put up with small children pinching or bending my ears. (to some extent)

I will not help myself to food items above table height…things that fall below the table are fair game though.

I will not lick the bottom of Judy’s feet or her face while she is sleeping. (I don’t understand why she doesn’t like this show of affection?)

I will continue to drool on balls and toys that are mine, because they are mine and I therefore I can. (just threw that one in cause I know I can keep that one).
